Red Bull Stratos – Felix Baumgartner freefalling from 120,000 feet

Back at the end of 2009, I predicted that Red Bull would create the most interesting marketing initiative/experiment in 2010. Well, I believe they have proved that already, and it’s only March.

A few weeks ago, they announced Red Bull Stratos, a project 3 years in the making. My favourite athlete, Felix Baumgartner will attempt to free fall from the stratosphere (over 120,000 feet), in that process breaking the sound barrier. It’s an amazing experiment which will have huge implications for space travel and human performance. There’s a serious team of dedicated scientists and experts helping make the mission a reality. I will be following Red Bull Stratos closely, just goes to show that Red Bull never rests on its laurels in terms exploring the limits of human performance. Awesome.
